I loved getting to know Agents, Leah and Jon and you are going to love meeting them as well. As with all of Mills books the romance was very good. The whole story was so worth the read. The only negative thing I can say about this book was it was not long enough. I hated for it to come to the end.Grab your copy of this 4 star book. The Mary Reader received this book from the publisher for review. A favorable review was not required and all views ...

DiAnn Mills' books have been hit or miss for me, and there's only been one or two I've really liked. But her newest release, Fatal Strike, is a fascinating and page-turning suspense novel with fabulous characters and a touch of romance. Five stars from me!Honestly, the romance aspect may have been one of my favorite parts of this book. Both characters acted like the adults and professionals they were and, instead of acting like hormonal teenagers...

Loved this read. Complex plot. Romance was good and enjoyable.

In Fatal Strike, Leah Riesel and Jon Colbert were initially teamed up to use their sniper skills in order to deescalate a threat. Their pairing was the first time they had come together and it was only out of desperation that it even took place because both of their partners were unavailable. Neither one of them were sure if they could work well together but they soon realized that they were compatible, one sniper to another. On the heels of that...

Fatal Strike by DiAnn Mills is a predictable, unoriginal tale of drug chasing. From the first chapter, I had a good idea of how the story would lay out, and I was proven correct. The characters were flat and had told their story before. I had a hard time staying focused on the story. I have seen the story before written by a number of romantic suspense authors. Not that Mills doesn't know how to write; she does, but I have read this drug chasing ...

When a killer begins injecting victims with Galveston, TX, and those targeted are law enforcement, the FBI sends in two well trained agents, both of whom are snipers. Jon and Leah are tasked with bringing the killer to justice before anyone else is targeted. This a tight, well written inspirational suspense novel, and I enjoyed it for the most part. About midway through, it kind of bogged down for me and the romance portion seemed a bit forced. Bu...

An interesting suspense novel by DiAnn Mills. Fatal Strike intrigues the readers with a look into FBI procedures and various twists and turns throughout the storyline. This was my first book my DiAnn Mills. The story didnt hold my attention as much as I thought it would, and I didnt connect with the characters as much as I typically do. However, this was an enjoyable read and I think suspense fans will enjoy it. I received a complimentary copy of...

Following a string of recent and prominent murders using snake venom that has the calling card of a local gang infiltration, a team of FBI agents, led by a highly trained sniper duo, descend on Galveston to deescalate the threat and bring justice to the victims. Tensely woven from the opening sequence, the story was incredibly fast-paced and set a desperate tone to find the answers to what has set a community on edge. "Her faith will be her stren...

Fatal Strike struck me hard with its swift pace, tight writing, and a plot which had FBI agents, snipers, opioid, murder using rattlesnake venom. That really rattled me while reading.Leah and Jon were the agents in question who were investigating the murder of law enforcement officials using snake venom. The story led to many troughs and plateaus before the end was revealed. My first book by DiAnn Mills, I have to admit the author did not allow me...

I am not even sure where to begin with my thoughts on this book!  I haven't read one of DiAnn's books in a while and I'm not sure why.  Her books are gripping, remind us of faith, family, and ties in a multitude of issues that we see in the world today.Leah and Jon have a hard job, or at least one that I wouldn't want to perform, they are snipers for the FBI.  It is an important job but I wonder how someone can put aside the fact that they wil...

A string of murders using rattlesnake venom brings a team of FBI experts to Galveston, Texas. Finding a connection proves difficult. Everyone seems to be hiding something. Another interesting crime drama by this dynamic author, with a subject pulled from current problems: gang violence, border concerns, illegal drugs. The main characters are smart, capable and tough, but have their own regrets and fears from their pasts. The dialogue is quick an...

3.5 stars"I'd rather face a dozen armed bad guys than one snake."Unfortunately, there have been a series of Galveston murders using rattlesnake venom as the weapon of choice. Paired with a new partner, F.B. I. Agent Leah Riesel can only hope that Jon Colbert doesn't have the opportunity to eyewitness her full blown phobia. Tasked with tracking down the murderers, supposed members of a local gang who call themselves The Venonos, Leah and Jon have ...

Two snipers team up to uncover who is behind a string of murders but multiple suspects, wrong turns, and possible gang involvement keep Leah and Jon (and readers) on their toes in Fatal Strike. DiAnn Mills doesnt give readers time to take a breath once they pick up this romantic suspense novel.I appreciated that Leah and Jon discussed whatever was on their minds. They communicated like the adults and professionals they are. While they both have f...

Fatal Strike is part police procedural and part romantic suspense, with a unique plot and a quick pace. The killers in this book get bonus points for creativity. Why use a boring old gun when you can make a statement with snake venom? The whodunit of this case kept me guessing throughout. The main characters are well developed. With Leah, the words that kept coming to mind were staunch and stiff. Shes the kind of person you could work alongside for...

Fatal Strike is a 400-page rollercoaster ride! It started off rather slow - with just a few twists and turns. As it turned out, the slow start was necessary so DiAnn Mills could get all her puzzle pieces on the table.Although it took the first two-thirds of the story to set the scene for the climax, the last third was so thrilling that I read it in one sitting. The Cast of Fatal StrikeThere were quite a few characters in this story. If there were ...

DiAnn Mills delivers another smashing hit with Fatal Strike. Two FBI snipers, Leah Riesel and Jon Colbert, start the story off when they are assigned together for the first time to take down a criminal in true sniper fashion. Despite both agents' reluctance to give up the driver's seat in their new partnership, they get along quite well, and they are immediately plunged into another deadly case. While the physical attraction between these two is...

With a combination of FBI Snipers, murder using rattlesnake venom, and a budding romance, DiAnn Mills has crafted a thriller fans will not want to miss. Galveston is being hit by a new kind of killer using rattlesnake venom for murder. A local gang called the Veneno is the prime suspect and the FBI calls in agents Leah Riesel and Jon Colbert to tackle the case. They have a witness that saw a body being left on a church doorstep but soon disappear...

Jon scooted back the chair and walked outside onto the front porch. He shoved his hands into his jean pockets and looked up at the millions of stars. Somebody designed the universe and put them into place, a Being much smarter than Jon.Fatal Strike is a wildfire book that kept my interest piqued from chapter to chapter. Solving murders in real life is hard enough, solving murders in Fatal Strike was even more challenging.Mills crafted a well-plot...

Debs Dozen: Leah and Jon, FBI Snipers, Face Fears, Fatalities, Forgiveness, and Finally, RomanceFatal Strike, DiAnn Millss latest entry in the suspense and mystery field, ranks as one of her best. She nails the characters of her protagonists, Leah and Jon, and makes us like them from the very beginning. Both carry secrets from their past that keep them from getting close to people. Nevertheless, their pasts make them excellent at their jobs of FB...

There's a lot of FBI investigation novels going around the book world. While I adore reading these types of stories, I have never read one like Fatal Strike by DiAnn Mills. In Fatal Strike, Mills entwines the lives of Leah and Jon as they get placed as partners on an FBI investigation in the town of Galveston, Texas. Along the way of their case, they both come to realize that they may have more between them than just a job. Feelings come into pla...

Fatal Strike by DiAnn Mills is another example of why she is a bestselling author. Oh My! I am not sure where to start- how she literally made me gasp at one point or one of the best sniper/ officer partnerships I have read in a while. Both Leah and John are snipers and have a past that they are trying to overcome. It was a great view into the life of a child sibling of adoption and special needs. She was dealing with her action and feelings from t...

Mills has crafted another good FBI investigation novel with scenes of suspense throughout. The plot is a bit complex with a number of people involved and the relationships between them quite entangled. There was a focus on the budding romance between the FBI agents Jon and Leah as they worked a case together. It seemed to move fast and I would have liked some obstacles to the romance having to be overcome along the way.The aspect of the novel I l...

"Fatal Strike" is a Christian romantic suspense. The main characters were likable and determined to track down the truth. Though they'd never worked together before, the two FBI agents got along well and made a good team. The hero respected the heroine's skill and wasn't put off by her reputation. Each allowed the other to take the lead if the other was better suited to handle the person or situation. They fell in love as they got to know each ot...

Fatal Strike has was one of the most inventive plots I've seen in a while. Snake venom as the murder weapon (and that's not a spoiler)! When you add in a family in tatters, two agents falling in love and greatest fears being faced, you have yourself a page-turner. DiAnn Mills says to "expect and adnveture" and this certainly was a wild one. I particularly liked not being able to figure out who the baddie was, until very near the end.

This book was loaned to me by my daughter who received it from the author to get her insights on her opinions of this book. I'm not as educated on doing reviews as my daughter but, my opinion of it is...WoW! I was drawn into this from beginning to end! To me, it was one of those books I couldn't put down but didn't want it to end! A very well told story! I loved it!!!

Oddly enough I just can't get into this one. Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime but right now it's boring, weak, and reads too much like a movie does. Too much dialogue.
