Lisa Gardner, the queen of crime thrillers writes a brilliant if traumatic addition to the Detective Sergeant DD Warren series as DD leaves her family in Boston, joining a local and FBI task force in Appalachian Niche in Georgia led by SSA Kimberly Quincy. Two hikers discover human bones that turn out to be those of the missing Lilah Abenito, assumed to be a victim of the now dead predator Jacob Ness. Efforts to dig into Ness's criminal past had ...

5 Stars A Complex, Compelling and Taut Mystery/Thriller. When human bones are found in the deep woods of Georgia, FBI Agent Kimberly Quincy is called in. To her, the findings mean something specific and for this investigation, she needs D.D. Warren and Flora Dane on board. The bones found belong to the body of Lilah Abenito who was reported missing fifteen years ago and is assumed to be a victim of Jacob Ness. Ness, as we all know is the man who ...

This is only the second book that I have read in this series but it can definitely be read as a stand alone. I will tell you that this book scared the heck out of me! It didn’t help that I was reading it at night and way past my bedtime, bad idea, had trouble falling asleep! At any rate the story is told from three different points of view. Flora Dane is a survivor, she was held captive (kidnapped, raped and terrorized) for over a year by Jacob ...

This instalment ticked all the boxes in my crime fiction favourites list:-out of the way/small/mountain town-local perp/possible local conspiracy-many dirty secrets coming to light-dead people turning up EVERYWHERE -links to even bigger/historical crimes-even more dead peopleOn top of that, D.D., Kimberly, and Flora have got to that point where they come across like a team now. There's a genuine feeling to their interactions, a sense that they ha...

I loved that three strong women headed this investigation. Normally Lisa Gardner books don’t scare me, but portions of this suspense novel really had me on edge. The parts that really scared the bejesus out of me were the italicized chapters told from the point of view of a young girl, who, at first, we don’t understand what she’s doing telling her story.FBI agent Kimberly Quincy and Boston police officer D.D. Warren think they are tracking...

4.5/ 5 starsWhen You See Me is book #11 in the D.D. Warren series. These books are mystery/thrillers.I adore Lisa Gardner and have read every book that she has written. This was probably my most anticipated read of early 2020. So I was beyond excited to get to read her newest book. This book brings three favorite characters together: D.D. Warren, Kimberly Quincy and Flora Danes.Flora is from books 8, 9, and 10 in the D.D. Warren series (Find Her, ...

I'm writing this review before my review for book ten of this series has even gone live on the blog (or GR). In that other post, I was effusive and bubbly after rediscovering my love for this series, as the installments before had been good, but not great. Well, we've returned to the good. But that's not a bad thing.Book eleven feels like almost a direct continuation of the story in book ten. We have DD, Kimberly, and Flora all partnered up, alon...

4.5 heart-pounding starsAnother stellar installment in the D.D. Warren/Flora Dane series. Flora is my favorite! This one is scary but so well done. I have not read all of the D.D. Warren books, but I’ve read all of them that include Flora. It’s nice to have books where women are the strong lead characters and don’t have men swooping in to save the day! This one also has Kimberly Quincy who is with the FBI. The three women are part of a task ...

When You See Me is another book in the D.D. Warren/Flora Dane series, this one having viewpoint chapters from D.D., Flora, Kimberly Quincy of the FBI, and a new voice. Those four perspectives were just about all I wanted to handle. The FBI Task Force dealing with the investigation of Jacob Ness, rapist and kidnapper, who held Flora captive for over a year, has gotten notice of human remains in an area where Ness was thought to travel. Quincy acti...

Hard to believe that When You See Me is the 11th book in the D.D. Warren series. I've been reading these since the 1st book, and have to say the characters, plots, and locations have just gotten better over time. D.D., Kimberly Quincy, and Flora Dane join forces to investigate the discovery of bones in a small, Southern town. The possibility exists that the deaths are tied to Jacob Ness, who abducted Flora and whose time as his captive haunts her...

This was not my first Lisa Gardner, but my first in this series. Now, I will have to put the other 10 on my ‘want to read list’. I was hooked after the first chapter. Lisa Gardner gives us a group of law enforcement individual from different backgrounds, and two civilians, Flora Dane and her boyfriend Keith. Flora’s background is important because as soon as the first body is discovered, the rumor goes that the girl was killed by Jacob Ness...

Going into this book I had had only read one other book in this series, it didn’t confuse me I truly enjoyed it! Let me tell you the opening scene had me shocked and I had to continue reading! An unknown little girl watches as a man murders her mother. Fast forward bones are found by two hikers in the North Georgia mountains. Soon your introduced to FBI agent Kimberly Quincey, Detective D.D Warren and a kidnapped/ survivor Flora Dane whose maki...

Lisa Gardner always delivers with her DD Warren series, and When You See Me is no exception. When skeletal remains are found in the North Georgia mountains, a possible connection to Jacob Ness, deceased predator, brings DD, Flora and Keith, among with FBI agent Kimberly Quincy, to Niche, Georgia. As more remains are discovered and the whole little town seems to be holding back horrible secrets, DD and team do what they do best - seek unconvention...

When You See Me by Lisa Gardner. Another winner for Ms Gardner. Really liking the "team" of Kimberly, D,D., Flora and Keith. Really vile criminals and horrific crimes in this story. Very highly recommend. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Although I think When You See Me would have benefited from just one less "heroine" and POV, it's still a tense and well-written mystery from the reigning Queen of Suspense, Lisa Gardner. Told from the perspectives of FBI Agent Kimberley Quincy, investigator D.D. Warren, and survivor Flora Dane, this book also presents italicized portions from an unknown girl, living in terror since the brutal murder of her mother. I don't mind books that flip bet...

I was so excited when I got approved for this! I’ve been a huge fan of Lisa Gardner since my late teens and I squealed like a child at Christmas when I was given this opportunity to read this! *insert love heart eye emojis here*.I don’t think Lisa Gardner is capable of producing a rubbish book with awful storyline! I’ve seen with each book that her passion, her imagination and her research have gotten extraordinarily better and better and f...

All the agents are running ragged in this one - all because of one man! Jacob!Of course, Kimberly Quincy is not just an FBI agent she's a justice seeker.D.D. Warren our detective and protector.Which leaves us with Flora Dane whose more than a survivor and warrior as she's also a mentor. There's so much more than an eye for an eye as we wait, hope, pray for all involved. In fact, the young girl Bonita captures the heart and soul of so many because s...

When you see me by @lisagardnerbks is definitely a 5read. It’s my second book by the author and had to read it because I was intrigued by the writing style and the narrative voice of the author in the genre. I wasn’t disappointed at all with When you see me. A fast paced read with chilling moments that will give you goosebumps and keep you on the edge of your seat for many moments. Three women tell a story that brings them together. In a plac...

D.D., Kimberly and Flora, is there a more kickass trio? This is Gardner at her best. A genius and heartbreaking plot, peppered with tender moments that show how big tough D.D.’s heart really is. I hope Gardner keeps on writing about these three women for a long time, following them along on their adventures makes me a stronger woman.

I won this book on Goodreads. It's one of those "sit up late to finish" books. I really enjoyed it; I like the way lots of disparate threads were tied together to make the story. (I would have given it four stars but there was an unnecessary sex scene.). Note to the publishers - the font style and size made it easy for these old eyes to read; thanks!

This eARC was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss+ in exchange for an honest review.Lisa Gardner outdoes herself in this twisting mystery where characters from her two most prominent series collide. Detective D.D. Warren teams up with FBI Special Agent Kimberly Quincy and everybody’s favorite vigilante Flora Dane in an effort to solve a missing person turned murder case where the body of a young woman who was believed to have been abducted ...

Two Hikers find human bones which are determined to be that of a woman who went missing 15 years previously. It is believed that this could be the work of the late Jacob Ness, a known predator who everybody assumes must have been responsible for other victims. This book brings together 2 main characters from 2 series of books by Lisa Gardner. Detective DD Warren and FBI Agent Kimberly Quincy who join a task force along with a clearly traumatised ...
