There and back again, a Tarin's taleTarin has been a 5th wheel, it feels like, this series so far. Dragged from Earth, tortured (although we never really learned what experiments week done on her) by the Iriduans, rescued by Akrillians, watched 2 fellow human rescues pair off with mates, returned to Earth, voluntarily left with remaining human rescue to save her mate, wandered Akrilla while said human and mate went through their story, during whi...

I was indifferent to Tarin in Tirel and Theresa's story, she was a minor player and didn't hold my interest one way or the other. I'd have NEVER guessed she would be this immature and petulant and moody ,and down right selfish as she flip flopped between emotions and wants and desires more often that a fish flopping around on a boat deck.... When she first meets Hunter she's put off by his appearance and while I can get that interacting w/what sou...

**Rainbow_Unicorn Reviews**SPOILERS AHEADNothing creepy crawly about this heroFirst few pages in and I'm totally digging this story! There are a shit tonne of communication issues and both Hunter and Tarin are repulsed by each others appearances. I love this, its hilarious and written in a way that is not frustrating to the reader at all.Hunter is an insect like being called a Menops. He is quite robotic with his interactions and initially has an...

Some trigger warnings There's some domestic violence in this book, not just memories. I had a but of trouble getting through that part. Tarin's response when she's stressed and feeling bad about herself is to lash out instead of challenging it, this includes violence. Fortunately she is smart enough not to justify it. She actually gets the right help. Trauma is the big reason she's so afraid and that often needs a specialist. I understood her beh...

A fascinating story!Well. Tarin is human, Hunter is a Menops male (insectoid, a bit like a giant ant). Tarin is quite brave to be talking to someone so large, with such a threatening appearance. She is also very emotional, prone to emotional extremes. Each develops a regard for each other. I am fascinated with the imagery the author creates as Ixcera (Hunter) views humans, particularly Tarin. His perception often makes me laugh; sometimes shiver ...

A Great Series I have been following this series since I stumble onto the first book. At first I was weirded out that any women would find a bug man attractive. However, Susan does such a good job of building her characters that you don't notice what they look like. I also like how in this story she shows just how weird human would look like to an alien too and be just as grossed out by us like we might. I found myself laughing at Hunter's descri...

Tarin and Hunter's Story !I loved all of this series of books ! This continuation of Tarin and Hunter just adds to the Sci-Fi fantasy woven by Susan Trombley . This is an honest review without any reparations from the author or publisher . I am reading it on kindle unlimited for free . I've read the authors Dead all series as well . This is well written and shows her love for the characters in her book . Give it a try . This can be read as a stan...

I love this series even if it is long winded at times This is definitely not your typical Sci-fi Romance novels most of all the novels I've read the men are usually pretty close to human only varying in skin color and most of the times they'll have horns but this series it goes full blown Sci-fi you have octopus man, giant snake man, giant ant man LoL and much more! My only complaint about this authors style of writing is she can go a little over...

5 starsI was looking forward to Hunter's story and It did not disappoint! I liked his arc of growing away from being a menops who only cares about himself, growing into a more empathetic person who feels real remorse and sadness over the results of his last actions. I also liked how he loved Tarin. He balanced her out so well and just adored her. Now I'm excited to see what comes next!

Another terrific storyThe world of the test subjects is ever revolving with Iriduan machinations. This was an excellent and most needed story for Hunter and Tarin the last known female test subject from the start. This does not mean this was the last book of the series as Ms. Trombley has informed us that there are still at least 2 more books in the works as well as possible short stories involving side characters.

The Hunter's MateI just loved Tarin and Hunter's story. The world building was outstanding and I really can't wait to read the next in this series. I love the overall story line it is so intriguing. Any one of the supporting characters would be awesome to read about. I would highly recommend this book and this series.

Great readI'm a big fan of Susan Trombley's books - keep writing! I liked _The Hunter's Mate_, though at times I was annoyed with the h's hangups, but we're all human (ha). Hunter himself was an awesome character and I'm sure many would agree. As usual, Halian is still in the picture and we'll see him again in future books.

Another great book to add to this seriesI really love this series. Susan's ability to make the monsters loveable is quite a gift. I recommend downloading book one stat. Can't wait to read Ava's story!

Amazing as alwaysAs with the other books in this series, I loved it! There are so many unique characters in this story and the world's are unbelievably fantastic. I cannot wait for the next book.

Another amazing bookI think Susan did another amazing job on this book. The characters were original and so was the story line. I love everything about her stories and how well they are written!

Loved the world building, the author really builds a fascinating street. Unfortunately I really hated the heroine and how she acted towards the H both physically and emotionally. It was very difficult for me to finish the book because of it.
  • Alynn
It was a bit too 'classic', there was nothing new to the romance itself and neither to the story and the drama with the 'bad' guy...which is not a bad guy anymore? Too bad, I was lookinng forward to read a anti-hero, oh well...

Excellent character developmentI loved the way this book worked out. Reading about tarin from hunters perspective was fabulous. I read several passages to my husband, because they were great.

HunterHunter goes through more than one metamorphosis in this book . He turns from villain to good guy but he has a lot to make up for.
  • Vanessa
OMG.. cannot wait for the next one to be released.

Yeah nah. Wasn’t a fan of this book. Skim read through the ending. I found the heroine to be annoying, and the romance was somewhat lacking IMO.
