The Hidden (Shadowed Wings #1) by Ivy Asher

The Hidden (Shadowed Wings #1)

I am a latent wolf shifter. Or so I thought. Then life as I knew it changed in a flash—or more accurately, an electrocution.I’ve woken up in a strange place, surrounded by strange people who hate me. They’re in the middle of a war, and I look like I belong on the wrong side of it. If that’s not enough to qualify as a really bad day, I now have wings and a strange animal to figure out, because it turns out that there’s not a damn latent t...

Completely investedWow, what a book. If you love books about shifters or paranormal enthusiasts, or have never read a paranormal book before, read this one. It has everything you could possibly want in the first book of a series. A kickass feisty female lead, hot stubborn alpha love interests. Hilarious banter and references to things you as a reader can relate to. An awesome and intriguing plot, plus it's not a book about werewolves - if the cov...

Fun story but I don't like the main charactersSo I have read every other book from thus author and loved them. She is a great writer and is fantastic at creating strong, intelligent female characters. That being said I couldn't really get into this book. It wasn't bad, there were moments I laughed and I like the story. I guess I can't really relate the the main character nor do I like the main love interests. I like how the lead female has a sense...

I really liked this, and I can't wait for book 2. The only reason this lost a star is because both love interests have been pretty disappointing so far. I assume this is a slow burn and the guys will get better, so maybe it isn't fair to take a star for that, but seriously a stronger romance is the only thing that could have made me enjoy this more. I imagine the later books in the series will get all 5 stars.

Such a delicious treatI love this new series and the female lead is all awesome-sauce snark and passion. I want to punch a few male characters in the junk and the others, I think of other stuff and junk, Ha!, I can’t wait for the next installment!

Not as good as her other seriesIf you're looking for a book as good as Ivy's Lost Sentinel series this isn't it. It took me a while to figure out why I didn't like it as much but I finally realized it's the male main characters and lack of shared information. In Lost Sentinel we get to know the male characters, we learn about them as the female main character does. We get glimpses into their past, their different personalities, their passions and...

If this book is any indication, Shadowed Wings promises to be a stunning departure from Asher's other series, The Lost Sentinel. The Hidden is a beautiful introduction into this new series and world that Asher has build. As always Asher leaves the reader speechless at the end of her story with only thoughts like "what just happened?" floating around in our head. I was left quite literally breathless after finishing this story. Knowing Asher from ...

MehI love Ivy Asher and her Lost Sentinel series. This new series is an interesting take on gryphons. I haven't read about them before so it was new and a refreshing new world. That is where the appeal stops however. The majority of this book was the constant emotional fighting between the FMC, Fallon, and her may-be mates Ryn and Zeph. They are just pure domineering a$$holes with hardly any redeemable qualities. Ryn is not as bad as Zeph but tha...

This book was hard to rate because I enjoy Ivy Asher’s stories. However, I personally absolutely hate cheating of any kind in a story. It completely ruins and overshadows everything else. I also think there’s a fine line between alpha, alpha asshole and straight up abusive and Zeph comes off as abusive. Anyway, back to the cheating - I know technically Zeph wasn’t with Falon at the point that she witnessed another woman grinding on him and ...

Ivy Asher does it again, ladies and gentlemen. If you need any more proof on how extremely brilliant of an author she is, then read this book and you’ll see what I’m talking about. This book was simply fantastic in every single way. I can’t even quite put into words. It has me from the very very beginning and I read it pretty much in one go. If you don’t want to spend the night awake reading, then you shouldn’t probably wait to start it...

Luckily, today is a holiday, so I don’t have to go into work, because once I started I couldn’t put this book down :) Falon is fierce! She believes she is a latent wolf shifter, but after she gets a literal shock of her life, she ends up in an unfamiliar land, kinda sorta being held hostage. While I love how fierce and awesome Falon is, the guys made me want to o shake them. Zeph and Ryn are in charge of their clan, and don’t quite know wha...

Ivy Asher does it again!Holy wow, I was just reading along happily and BAM book over. Seriously Ivy knows how to weave a story that is out of this world. I had no clue the end of the book was upon me! Okay seriously, I don't think I'll live if I have to wait for the next book! Falon was a wonderful, kickass, funny, sarcastic MC. I am not so sure of the guys at this point. Sutton stood out as someone who actually cared for her, but I'm not sure th...

Rocking new series Solid 5 star rating. Ms. Asher has started this new series, Shadowed Wings and it totally rocks. I'm loving the world the author built, the storyline and the characters. I like the authors ability to create main female characters that knows how to hold their own. They have little hiccups but get right back up. Falon is a great new female character who's pretty badass and is having her many moments with her inner shifter lol. Th...

DisappointedI was so excited for this book to come out, but I am so disappointed with it. I didn't like Falon, I especially didn't like Pigeon, and I HATED Zeph and Ryn. I wasn't into the storyline at all and I found myself skimming through many scenes. I will not be reading the next book in this series. I just hate when the characters love interests are assholes, it ruins the whole book for me. I am losing faith in this author. Don't waste your ...

Holy damn! I can't wait for the next one! Seriously! The first book just released tonight, and I already can't wait for the next one! This is one of the best books I've read this entire year by far! The heroine is amazing. She's so snarky and yet soft sometimes. She's so kickass that you can't help in love with her. Sometimes she stands her ground which is great but sometimes she just wants to bitch slap the inner pigeon inside of her. Ha ha. Ser...

Best new shifter series! There are SO many shifter books out there, and honestly, most of them suck. But this one is FREAKING AMAZING. It's unique, and is totally the quintessential Ivy Asher story with a bada$$ female MC. I LOVE how this story isn't insta-love. You're not going to get that cliche here. Some people can't handle the guys being jerks, but hello....it makes sense for the story. I personally like the push and pull. It makes it hotter...

Why?!I don’t know why I do this to myself. As always, Ivy creates a magical new world that immediately captures you and keeps you absolutely absorbed, page after page. Falon knows that she is a shifter but at 25 years old Hasn’t been able to shift. After her grandmothers death, something happens and she is thrust into a world she had no idea existed. Add two hot, alphaholes to the mix and it’s a recipe for disaster. Book ends in a cliffhang...

I was excited to read book one of the Shadowed Wings series. I love Ivy's writing style and she blew me away with the Sentinel's series. I'm disappointed to say that The Hidden was not as enjoyable. It lacks depth. I had a hard time connecting to any of the characters. Too many plot holes and it feels like I read half a book. I felt frustrated knowing that not much was going to be explained once I noticed I was 95% in. Definitely won't be reading...

Need more! This is a constant rush of twists, confusion, frustration, hormones, anger, steaminess, humor, and surprises. The unknown envelops our protagonist, and she must deal with a confusing new world, leaders who are hiding secrets, missing pieces from her past, and her animal - who isn't really into teaming up and working with her. Be prepared for a crazy cliffhanger also. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Nope, just nope.Fine line between being dominant alphas and straight up abusive a**holes and this book veered towards the latter.Their relationship is NOT healthy, even in a fictional world and I cannot see how people are rating it so highly when Zeph is abusive (Ryn just slightly less so).I honestly don’t mind a bit of power play in stories if the author takes the time to do it right and this was an example of doing it wrong. Will not pick up t...

Good start to the seriesI enjoyed this new world of gryphons and am looking forward to seeing where this series goes. A unique plot kept me intrigued. I am hoping that I will connect with the characters more as they develop more through the series. The lack of communication between the three main characters was getting to me by the end. But, I could not put the book down, keeping me fully engaged throughout. Looking forward to book 2.

Another amazing storyEnd of book one? Seriously?! The queen of cliffhangers strikes again. This story is as funny as the sentinel series. Drama, fighting, and steamy times, alpha males...oh my! lol. This is a story about a "lost" girl who finds out she isnt who she thought she was. Shes thrown into a world she knows nothing about with her "pigeon" not being very cooperative. This chick has attitude and makes it a fun read. January cant come fast ...

Great start to a new series Hidden pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you invested throughout. Fallon is an awesome MC , strong , yet vulnerable, kind but tough , and she’s not putting up with any kind of crap thrown her way . The main guys are interesting , I liked Ryn but didn’t care for Zeph ( hopefully that will change in book 2) all in all an excellent read , can’t wait for the next book :)

I thoroughly enjoyed itThis was my cup of tea seriously. If your into rh but you want a nice slow intense burn your in the right place unfortunately this book also has alot of lady blue balls because there's alot of oh my god just do each other already! The book starts off pretty in your face but I really liked it. Also a ton of cursing so if your potty mouth like me its gonna be fuckn perfect.

Freaking beyond spell binding!!Captures you from the get go! This is definitely one of my favorite gals so far!! She's a big, tough, take no crap heroine that gives no shits and gives lots of f** bombs. She is a ballsy, mouthy bada** and her story is one you quickly find yourself hoooked into. I am chomping at the bit for book 2!! Why oh why must the release dates be so dang far apart??!!!

Ivy never fails to deliver I've recommended ivy time and again. This new series proves why! Characters you love to hate and hate to love. Feisty and snarky main character you think dang "I want them as a friend/wanna be them". Strong and vulnerable all at the same time. Hooks that leave you begging for more. Serious book hangover. I'd recommend her every time....

Wow wow wowThis book had a hold on me from the first page. I was torn between sleeping last night and reading, even though I knew I can’t function without a good sleep. The only problem being... I keep hitting next and book two won’t load. Amazing start to what I know is going to be an amazing series. I have to get this book signed!!!
