OH WOW!!! What an intriguing volume! Seriously, now I really wish I would have borrowed number 11 and 12 as well. Such a cliff-hanger! T_T Highlights of this volume: ”I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Kisa. I have to become a man who can make you happy.”Hiro and Kisa are sooo damn adorable!

UGH!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE SOME OF THE STUFF THAT HAPPENED IN THIS VOLUME!!! IT UPSETS ME SO MUCH TO SEE CRAP LIKE THIS HAPPENING! Okay, so we could basically blame all that is happening on Akito. That little spoiled, no good, self-centered, little schmuck needs to get his eyes stabbed out. He needs to be beaten into a bloody pulp! He needs to get shot multiple times, thrown off an 18th story building, and then run over by a pogo stick! That's how ba...

🐯 This volume is Kisa! 🐯Finally it is summer vacation for Tohru and the Sohma's! And what better way to spend the sunny weather than at one of the Sohma's many vacation homes by the beach? Hiro and Kisa come along to join Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, Momiji and Haru, as well as Hatori and Shigure. But unfortunately, the fun of hunting stag beatles and having swimming races at the beach comes to a hult when Akito decides to visit as well. His purpose f...

Everything was going so well until, of course, Akito had to show up once again and put a damper on everyone's moods. I loved the ending though! I'm so glad Yuki didn't let Akito deter him from getting his feelings off his chest.

Is Kisa not cute on the cover? She really reminds me of Tohru with the way she is drawn. So volumes 10 and 11 really pick up the pace, I find I read these two back to back, even knowing how this bit of the plot plays out I find myself needing to read about it immediately. Even before Akito comes into play the whole sea-side vacation has a dark undertone, which is pretty much due to Hiro - I am very glad that Kyo has a word with him, he needed it. ...

I'm already to volume 10?!? How'd that happen? Anyway, here are the notes I took while reading:- (view spoiler)[ I'm glad Mayu and Hatori get together someday. Hatori deserves to be happy, after what he's been through. (hide spoiler)] Shigure and his tricks, though! I would've been just as mad as Mayu was!- Stupid Akito coming to the summer home and bringing everyone down.- I wonder if Kureno enjoys being around Akito or if he'd prefer to be free...

I like the main character, is very entertaining and the story (in general) is well-developed.

Okay, I have finally read the tenth volume of the “Fruits Basket” series by Natsuki Takaya and I really enjoyed this volume! In this volume, Tohru and the Sohma family all go to the Sohmas’ family summerhouse and are having a great time having fun, however their fun comes to an abrupt halt when *gasps* Akito comes for a surprise visit! Meanwhile, we are also introduced to Hatori’s side of the story about what happened between his lost lov...

I been having pretty lukewarm feelings in rereading this series, but I guess as a disclaimer I have to say that even at the height of Fruits Basket Fever, I was pretty much at normal temperature. It's cute for sure but there are things about the story that never really resonated with me now and even back then.I know this is probably a blasphemous thing to say, but I've never really liked Tohru as a character. She feels underdeveloped and flat to ...

There's such a large cast of characters and some of them look so much alike that it can be a challenge to keep track of who is who. But over all, its a very enjoyable volume and series. And that ending? Awesome! Recommended to all manga lovers!

*WARNING spoilers for This and potentially other Volumes and Fruits Basket Another.(Sidenote: The cover of this volume is Kisa-chan! She is so adorable, I can't help but squee in delight whenever she is in frame; and there are so many cute shots of her in this book! Anyway--)By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea...I don't know why, but I always love anime/manga 'beach' episodes. Maybe it's just fun to watch the characters let their hair do...

Ah, this is the best one of the series so far! All the emotional stuff happening! The gang are all enjoying their vacation at the summer resort, but the evil Akito decides he needs to "teach them a lesson" and shows up unannounced to ruin their fun.Kyo teaches Tohru to swim properly, and there's general merrymaking by the beach. Momiji wants to smash watermelons and hunt for beetles. But Yuki is serious as always, contemplating opening his heart t...

3.5 / 5 stars ratingThis review is also posted at http://readingnookandcranny.blogspot....Summer is here and our favorite members of the Sohma family head to their summerhouse with Tohru in toe. But when the rest of the cursed family members are invited - and show up - not only do competitions start to form but tensions start to rise. This volume is a great developmental volume for not only Yuki, but Tohru and Kyo as well. One of the Sohma members...

AaGGHH! So much goodness in one lil manga volume!! AWWW, Yuki:)! You make my heart melt... What can i say, if you've read this far you are going to love Vol 10. Lots of interesting backstory, plus a good dose of Hatori. Un-put-downable.
  • Abby
One of my favorites so far. I pretty much don't care about anyone outside the family so the part with their teacher was a little long, but the rest was super awesome.
  • Yehudit
A beautiful volume... I just love all of them, the Sohmas. And Tohru.I HATE Akito, though.

Gahhh this was so good! This series is getting better and better.

Very compelling story as always. I only had to wait three days for this one to show up at the library. =)Reread review.. Akito is truly mean. The depth of emotion in this series is staggering. =)

At almost half-way through the series, I'd like to point out a few observations on this re-read.This is were I'm hoping the plot is going to pick up. It keeps hinting at the bigger picture without really seeing it.I have a soft spot for the characters, but because there's so many I feel we don't know any overly well yet.Akito is this big fear in the for the Sohma's- I can't remember why at this point other than some acts of violence that hasn't b...

Honestly Tohru’s friendship with kyo and yuki are my life right nowwwww!!!! I’m a little freaked out that yuki might tell tohru he loves her of something because I’m a hardcore kyohru shipper you feel me?? Also shigure is the saddest zodiac member and it’s killing me because I love him so much!! I’m loving the fact that he’s like a puppet master to tohru and Kyos relationship, which almost makes him bad, but I feel like he’s doing i...

Yay! for summer vacation. Even if Shigure is being his usual devious/jerky self. I adored all the beetle stuff, the vacation, and the fact that Akito is starting to throw the shit down. And I'd like to pat Yuki on the head for his progress re: his lid. Good job, Yuki! (If anybody who hasn't already read all of this, please forgive me for saying, don't take that "I love you" shit the wrong way).At this point, one sort of wonders who will win? Akit...

There are two story arcs in this volume and both involve meddling by Shigure. In the first story arc Shigure attempts to play matchmaker and in the second we see that he’s attempting to manipulate Akito. What deeper game is Shigure playing? The majority of this volume takes place at the summer house where Tohru and several of the Sohmas are on vacation. The heartfelt revelation at the very end will leave * some* fans very happy.

Everybody is spending their time in a summer home and enjoying their summer break. Although everybody is having fun, some can't hide their feelings for each other. I found that some characters were begining to grow and overcome their fears over their futures, and it all been done because of this special someone.
  • Mitchell
Nice. Pleasant. Readable. But not a wowzer. Really this was is fine against with the complaint that I wish the characters were more distinctive. And that the stories would be more intricate and detailed. And the pace is so slow. So little happens. But this one was fairly enjoyable. Perhaps I'm just getting beaten down. 3.5 of 5.

One of the best volumes of this series, so far. Characters are developed, and we learn more about their backstory - who knew that Tohru's homeroom teacher knew Shigure and Hatori?! Additionally, there seems to be some depth to Tohru's character developing (finally!), and it looks like everyone's world could soon get turned upside down with Akiro's arrival...
  • Gabby
So many laugh-out-loud moments. Very emotional, definitely one of the best in the series so far. Can't wait to pick up the next one, and I like that we're getting a lot more of the Sohma family together now.

Everyone goes on a beach vacation. Hatori kun meets someone from his past. In the end even Akito shows up.
